By accessing or using EduTrace ("Service"), available at edutrace.app, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you disagree with any part of these terms, you may not access the Service.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By using our Service, you represent that you are at least 13 years old.

EduTrace is a free educational platform designed for STEM high school students (grades 10-12) and graduated alumni. The Service provides:

• Access to educational content organized by grade and semester
• Study tools including Notes, Todos, and Calendar
• AI-powered study assistant
• Quiz and assessment features
• Progress tracking and analytics
• GPA calculator

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features, you must create an account by providing:

• A valid email address
• A unique username
• A secure password
• Your full name
• Your grade level (10, 11, 12, or Graduated/Alumni)

3.2 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
• All activities that occur under your account
• Notifying us immediately of any unauthorized access
• Ensuring your account information is accurate and up-to-date

3.3 Account Security

We recommend using a strong, unique password and enabling any available security features. Do not share your password with others.

4.1 You Agree To:

• Use the Service only for lawful, educational purposes
• Respect other users and their content
• Provide accurate information when creating your account
• Follow any guidelines or policies we publish

4.2 You Agree NOT To:

• Share your account with others or create multiple accounts
• Use automated systems (bots) to access the Service
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Upload malicious content, viruses, or harmful code
• Harass, abuse, or harm other users
• Impersonate others or provide false information
• Use the Service for commercial purposes without permission
• Scrape, copy, or redistribute our content without authorization
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
• Violate any applicable laws or regulations

5.1 Content Ownership

All educational content on EduTrace, including but not limited to text, graphics, images, videos, and interactive materials, is owned by EduTrace or its content contributors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

5.2 Limited License

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the educational content for personal, non-commercial educational purposes only.

5.3 Content Accuracy

While we strive to provide accurate and up-to-date educational content, we do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of any content. The content is provided for educational purposes and should not be the sole source for academic decisions.

6.1 Your Content

You retain ownership of content you create (notes, todos, etc.). By using our Service, you grant us a limited license to store and display your content as necessary to provide the Service.

6.2 Content Standards

Your content must not:

• Violate any laws or third-party rights
• Contain offensive, harmful, or inappropriate material
• Include spam or promotional content
• Infringe on copyrights or trademarks

6.3 Content Removal

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or is otherwise objectionable, at our sole discretion.

Our AI-powered study assistant (TraceAI) is provided to help with your studies. When using TraceAI:

• Use it for legitimate educational queries only
• Do not attempt to manipulate or misuse the AI
• Understand that AI responses are for assistance and may not always be accurate
• Daily usage limits apply (200 messages per day for free users)
• Do not use AI to generate harmful, inappropriate, or misleading content
• AI responses are generated by third-party services (Google Gemini) and we are not responsible for their accuracy
• Do not rely solely on AI for academic decisions or exam preparation

Important: We do not monitor or review AI conversations in real-time. Conversations are stored for service improvement but not shared with third parties except as required by law.

We strive to keep EduTrace available 24/7, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be unavailable due to:

• Scheduled maintenance (we'll try to notify you in advance)
• Technical issues or server problems
• Circumstances beyond our control

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without prior notice.

9.1 By You

You may delete your account at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Upon deletion, your personal data will be removed according to our Privacy Policy.

9.2 By Us

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice, if you:

• Violate these Terms
• Engage in fraudulent or illegal activities
• Abuse the Service or other users
• Create risk or legal exposure for us

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Warranties of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose
• Warranties that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
• Warranties regarding the accuracy of educational content
• Warranties that the Service will meet your specific requirements
• Warranties regarding data security or protection against all cyber threats
• Warranties that TraceAI will provide correct or complete answers

Educational Disclaimer: EduTrace is a supplementary educational tool. It is NOT a replacement for formal education, teachers, or official curriculum. We are not responsible for academic outcomes, exam results, or admission decisions.

No Professional Advice: Content on this platform does not constitute professional educational counseling, career advice, or psychological services.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, EDUTRACE AND ITS TEAM, OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages
• Loss of data, profits, or goodwill
• Service interruption or computer damage
• Any damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service
• Damages resulting from unauthorized access to your account
• Errors or inaccuracies in content or AI responses
• Academic failures, missed deadlines, or lost opportunities
• Actions or content of third-party users
• Data breaches despite our security measures

Maximum Liability: Our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms shall not exceed 100 EGP or the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months preceding the claim, whichever is lower. Since our service is free, this effectively limits our liability to 100 EGP.

No Liability for User Content: We are not responsible for any content created, uploaded, or shared by users, including notes, todos, or chat messages.

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless EduTrace and its team from any claims, damages, losses, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from:

• Your use of the Service
• Your violation of these Terms
• Your violation of any third-party rights
• Your content submitted to the Service

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Arab Republic of Egypt, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated Terms and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
